I enjoyed my stay. The room was nice and spacious, the beds firm. It had plenty of receptacles for charging electronics. My favorite part was the large shower head. The room is not carpeted and could have used an area rug. It is a very busy area with the public access, fishing pier, and RV park. It is a 150 yard walk to the beach access, watch the traffic!
Adequate room, a bit cramped for 3 adults. Nearby beach access: 4 - 5 minute walk, so not on the beach per se. Walk to shopping, restaurants. Room water smelled strongly of sulphur; bring your own to drink. I realize this is common at the beach, but was _really_ strong, and a negative. Room was very dark--needs more light. Everyone there was friendly and helpful. Near Bogue Inlet Pier. There's a colony of permanent trailers and a parking lot between the Inn and the ocean. When I go to the beach, I want to see beach and ocean, not an expanse of trailers and parking lots of asphalt. Disappointing.
This place is simple and great. Staff is friendly. Rooms are basic, but well priced. Quick walk to Bogue Pier for good fishing and beach access. Ocean View is blocked by other buildings and homes. Parking is reserved for guests only, so it's never a problem. It's within a quick walk or drive to several great restaurants and shopping.
I wouldn't even give this a one star. We walked into our room there was bandeau on our sink and a cockroach on our ceiling. Husband said he stepped on a bug before I brought out kids in so I didn't freak out. Also rather expensive for not even being on the beach. The lady at the desk was nice but the owner was being rude to my husband when he asked for a refund. He told my husband they were that bad. Well sir. I took a picture of the massive cockroach on your ceiling.
I worked here for a while and was trained by the Manager to clean the rooms. First of all, you all think these rooms are so clean but what you don't know is they only give you 30 minutes to clean a room and 15 minutes for people that are staying over another night. Maids are told, not to clean the sheets, pillow cases unless they smell or have visible stains and hair on. Other than that beds are just re-made without changing out the previous guests sheets and pillow cases. They will change the sheets and pillow cases if you stay over and ask for fresh sheets if time permits it. If not, they just re-make the beds to save time. The toilet, shower, floor, get wiped with one cleaning rag that even the microwave and all surfaces in the room are all wiped down with. Why? To save time. It takes minutes to go back and forth and to search for clean different rags to wipe stuff down or to make the bed with. So corners must be cut to save time. Do the math...each maid has 20 rooms to clean in 3 hours. That on average gives like 7-10 minutes tops to clean rooms that are trashed out and to make them look immaculate. Can you strip sheets and make a bed alone in 7 minutes? Especially multiple beds? No you can't and neither can us maids. The rooms only look immaculate but are very germ ridden. The remote, light switches, toilet handle, NEVER get cleaned. Beware!
